This exhibition draws upon people and places from Kate Stevens’ own life, plus film stills and photographs that resonate with her.

“When i was young and feeling low about the state of the world, I used to write mental lists of little moments of beauty in life and art, to remind me to remain hopeful. In the times we are currently living through, it feels right to revisit this approach once more.” – KS

Kate Stevens has shown in many group and solo exhibitions including at Sydney Contemporary and the Canberra Contemporary Art Space, and she received the 2021 Evelyn Chapman Art Award. Her paintings are held in the collections of Artbank, ACT Legislative Assembly, ACT Health, Australian War Memorial, Canberra Museum and Gallery and numerous private collections, and she has twice been the recipient of the prestigious Portia Geach Memorial Award for portraiture.

In February 2025 Kate exhibited paintings in ELEGY at Civic Art Bureau with Lizzie Hall. During April 2026 her portrait of Zomi Frankcom was shown in the Bureau window to commemorate the second anniversary of Zomi’s death. Zomi was an Australian aid worker killed in 2024 by an Israeli drone strike in Gaza.

Kate Stevens is represented by Civic Art Bureau.
